Raising a multilingual child is an incredible journey—but it can also bring plenty of questions, doubts, and myths along the way. Join us for Supporting Your Multilingual Child, a lecture led by clinical psychologists Annabel Battersby and Jennifer De Paola —who are also mums of multilingual children themselves! In this engaging lecture we’ll explore what it really means to grow up with multiple languages.
We will introduce you to the most effective multilingual family strategies, including the One Parent, One Language (OPOL) approach, the Minority Language at Home (MLAH) method, and the Time & Place strategy. We’ll also bust common myths about raising multilingual children and provide you with practical, research-based tools to confidently support your child’s language learning while strengthening family connections.
Whether you’re navigating different languages at home, wondering how to keep your child engaged in the minority language, or simply curious about the cognitive and emotional benefits of multilingualism, this session will offer clarity, encouragement, and actionable advice.
