The Compass Psychology team wishes you very Happy Holidays, a Merry Christmas if you celebrate, and a Happy New Year of 2026! Our company and team has grown and evolved a lot in the past year, as several new practitioners have joined our team of professionals, we have begun to offer workshops for companies and work-reimbursed payment methods, and our directors Hatty and Annabel have both gained psychotherapist qualifications. In addition to working with our amazing clients on a daily basis, what else has Compass Psychology been up to in 2025? Let’s have a look!

New team members who joined us in 2025

This year we have been pleased to welcome psychologist & sexuality therapist Ellen Byman and psychologist Srishti Trehan to our Helsinki team, and psychologist & relational counselor Jenni Bucci to our Turku team!

Annabel and Hatty became psychotherapists

Directors of Compass Psychologist and psychologists Annabel Battersby and Hatty Francis-Ehnholm both received their psychotherapist qualifications last month, making it possible for Compass Psychology to offer Kela-reimbursed rehabilitative psychotherapy! We celebrated these achievements with flowers and a party by Hatty.

To find out more how to access Kela-reimbursed psychotherapy, read more on the Kela website, and get in touch with us if you are seeking this type of therapy (currently offered in English and Swedish).

We gave workshops on mental health topic to charities and corporate partners

Annabel offered a free workshop to a small group of refugees from the Red Cross refugee drop-in centre in Punavuori, offering tools from ACT therapy to help the attendees to better tend to their wellbeing and mental health needs. Ellen Byman offered a free Self-Reflection Workshop on Sexual Ideals as a part of Pride Month. Hatty gave a presentation on Coping and Healing after Divorce.

If you missed these events, worry not – we still have an upcoming event with Intero Integration “Wellbeing in winter: Feeling strong in the dark season”, held by Hatty Francis-Ehnholm and Annabel Battersby. It will be held on December 17th, at 18:30-20:00 at our Helsinki office in Fredrikinkatu 20B 10 and you can sign up here.

Keep an eye out for future talks and workshops, as Compass Psychology does these for free on a regular basis – they are advertised on our Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Trained in LGBTQ+ perspectives and supported Helsinki Pride

In Pride month, we supported the annual Helsinki Pride celebration by signing up as a Small Business Partner and holding a free event on Self-Reflection of Sexual Ideals, by Ellen Byman. We also had a professional development session from our psychologist intern Nic Boendermaker and office manager and psychology student Annie Roland on LGBTQ+ perspectives in psychological practice.

These events were among many more in 2025 and we are looking forward to a new year of building up Compass Psychology and working hard to support the international community in Helsinki. Thank you all for being involved and we look forward to continuing our journey with you!
