Hello and welcome, I’m Srishti Trehan, a clinical psychologist with over ten years of training plus experience in psychology. Originally from India, I moved to Finland three years ago on a spouse visa, full of hope and excitement about beginning my professional journey here. What I didn’t anticipate was how long and complex the process to practice as a psychologist would be. It has been a journey filled with moments of waiting, learning, adapting, and sometimes frustration. Yet through it all, I found strength and resilience. Those challenges became valuable lessons, shaping me into the psychologist I am today, someone who truly understands what it means to start over, to feel displaced but determined, and to navigate a new culture. This personal experience connects deeply to the work I do, especially with immigrants and international clients, because I have lived this reality firsthand.

From a very young age, I’ve been deeply attuned to other people’s emotions, naturally creating space for them to feel heard and accepted. When I discovered psychology, everything aligned: my values, my curiosity, even my vulnerabilities! I dedicated myself to the field with passion, completing a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, a professional diploma, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I gained hands-on experience through internships in hospitals, clinics, and psychiatric wards in India and worked as an independent practitioner for more than two years before moving to Finland. Even now, every day brings new insights about human behavior and mental health, and I continue to learn and grow alongside my clients.

I primarily work with adults, young adults, and couples who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in difficult emotions. Many of my clients are navigating significant life changes such as moving to a new country, starting a family, or adjusting to a new culture. Others come because they’re struggling with low mood, grief, relationship challenges, or the lasting effects of trauma. Whatever your experience, I offer a warm, compassionate, and culturally sensitive space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings without judgment.

My therapeutic approach blends evidence-based methods including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness. But more than any technique, I believe in the power of a trusting, collaborative relationship between therapist and client. My goal is to help you build self-awareness, resilience, and emotional independence so that therapy becomes a stepping stone toward greater well-being, not a lifelong dependency. I offer therapy sessions in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi to support you in the language where you feel most comfortable.

Outside of work, my family means the world to me, I truly treasure the moments I spend with my husband, and staying close with my parents and brother through video calls keeps us connected across the miles. My dog, Zen, is a daily source of joy and inspiration, and his gentle nature has enriched my ability to empathize deeply with others. I enjoy quiet moments at home, walks in nature, and meaningful conversations with kind-hearted people. Simple pleasures like a good cup of chai or witnessing my clients’ progress in therapy bring me immense satisfaction.

If you’re wondering whether therapy might be right for you, please know that seeking support is a brave and powerful step. You are not alone, and it’s okay to ask for help. I would be honored to walk with you on your path toward healing and growth, helping you find balance, peace, and greater understanding of yourself.

Warmly,
Srishti Trehan
