Hi, I’m Christina, a clinical psychologist at Compass Psychology.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University, where my training had a strong focus on therapeutic skills and CBT-based interventions. I began my work at Compass Psychology during my clinical internship and have since continued here as a psychologist.
My interest in psychology began already in high school and has gradually developed into a meaningful and rewarding career path. In my work, I support clients in understanding and changing long-standing patterns that can affect their wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from CBT, Schema Therapy, and other evidence-based frameworks. This allows us to explore how early life experiences shape our emotional world and coping styles, and how these patterns can be gradually worked through in a safe and structured way.
I have a particular interest in trauma and its long-term impact. My Master’s thesis explored the relationship between childhood trauma, PTSD, and chronic pain, which continues to guide my clinical perspective. As part of my ongoing professional development, I will begin EMDR training in May, with the aim of further specializing in trauma-focused therapy.
Before transitioning into psychology, I worked in international environments in business administration roles in cities such as New York City and Amsterdam. This background has shaped my understanding of high-pressure environments, life transitions, and the challenges of balancing personal wellbeing with demanding careers.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and the gym, as well as spending time outdoors and with people close to me. I also have two Bengal cats (currently in the process of relocating to Helsinki), who bring a lot of joy and energy into my everyday life.
I offer therapy in English and Finnish, and I work with adults facing a range of concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, and questions around identity and life direction.
