Hi! I am a Clinical Psychology Master’s student at Leiden University in the Netherlands, originally from Poland. I’m excited to be a part of Compass Psychology to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world setting and gain hands-on experience as an emerging therapist. My studies have primarily focused on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), giving me a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic practices.

I am drawn to psychology because of the powerful impact mental health has on individuals’ lives. Growing up in a society where mental health awareness was still developing, I recognized how important it is to promote understanding and support in this area. This sparked my passion for psychology and motivated me to pursue a path focused on improving mental health care and helping individuals navigate psychological challenges with empathy and understanding.

My bachelor’s thesis explored the role of loneliness and its influence on rejection sensitivity and depressive symptoms. For my master’s thesis, I focused on the relationship between Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) symptoms, sleep quality, and overall quality of life. In addition to these areas of research, I have a strong interest in addiction psychology, and I am committed to expanding my knowledge of various therapeutic approaches to better support individuals with diverse psychological needs.

Before pursuing psychology, I earned a diploma in English Philology with a specialization in teaching, which provided me with valuable insights into child and adolescent development, as well as an understanding of school culture and the challenges faced by young people. In addition, I spent a year in the United States as an Au Pair, where I had the opportunity to live with a family and care for two wonderful children, aged 5 and 9. This experience further deepened my understanding of the developmental needs of children and the importance of fostering a supportive environment.

Living abroad for nearly six years has given me a deeper understanding of how cultural differences can impact one’s life. It has also provided me with valuable insight into the unique challenges that expats face in adapting to a new environment, navigating unfamiliar cultural norms, and adjusting to daily life in a foreign setting.

In my work, I try to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to work on their goals. I offer therapy in English and in Polish.
