Aino Stenbäck is a master’s student in Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Her training has focused on CBT techniques and mindfulness. Raised across continents, including Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, she spent most of her childhood immersed in diverse international environments before returning to Finland to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Oulu. This international upbringing has given her firsthand insight into the complexities of cross-cultural adaptation, from navigating the challenges of relocation to building meaningful connections in unfamiliar settings and ultimately finding a sense of home.
She is particularly interested in anxiety, fear, and attachment relationships. These interests are central to her thesis, which examines how different attachment styles shape the way people perceive and experience affectionate touch. This work reflects her curiosity about how we form connections with others, and how those connections influence our understanding of ourselves and the world.
Aino is fluent in both English and Finnish and is able to offer sessions in either language.
